• やっと新一万円札を入手。銀行で引き出して。

■ [unix] FreeBSD 4.9をFreeBSD 4-STABLEへバージョンアップ (2)

まだ途中だったので続き。

設定ファイルの更新

mergemaster を実行する。差分があったのは、/dev/MAKEDEV、/etc/defaults/rc.conf、/etc/defaults/make.conf、/etc/defaults/pccard.conf、/etc/defaults/periodic.conf、/etc/gnats/freefall、/etc/mail/freebsd.mc、/etc/mail/freebsd.cf、/etc/mail/freebsd.submit.mc、/etc/mail/freebsd.submit.cf、/etc/mail/sendmail.cf、/etc/mail/submit.cf、/etc/mail/Makefile、/etc/mtree/BSD.local.dist、/etc/mtree/BSD.usr.dist、/etc/mtree/BSD.x11-4.dist、/etc/namedb/named.root、/etc/periodic/daily/150.clean-hoststat、/etc/periodic/weekly/400.status-pkg、/etc/ssl/openssl.cnf、/etc/hosts、/etc/hosts.allow、/etc/motd、/etc/rc.diskless1、/etc/rc.diskless2、/etc/rc.firewall6、/etc/rc.network、/etc/rc.sendmail、/etc/remote、…きりがなさそうなのでメモするのはやめ。基本的に、新しいものをそのままインストールした。

/stand の更新

考えず、ハンドブックに書かれていることをただ実行した。

# cd /usr/src/release/sysinstall
# make all install

動作確認

問題なく動作していると思われる。GNOMEも動くし。

■ [unix] GNOMEを2.6から2.8へバージョンアップ

やるぞ。FreeBSD 4-STABLEにて。

普通にportupgradeを使ってバージョンアップしてはダメというのを聞いていたので、How do I upgrade to GNOME 2.8?を見ながらやる。gnome_upgrade.sh をダウンロードしてきて実行だ。

# sh ./gnome_upgrade.sh
===> FreeBSD 4.11-STABLE is not supported by the FreeBSD GNOME project.
Please refer to http://www.FreeBSD.org/gnome/ for a list of supported versions.

となった。なにー。gnome_upgrade.sh 内の

SUPPORTED_FREEBSD_VERSIONS="4.10 5.3 6.0"

となっていた行に4.11を加えて無理やり実行する。うーん、今度は

To prevent crashing your system, as well as to significantly speed up the
upgrade, you are strongly advised to run this program from a console.  If any
GNOME or Gtk+-2 application is running, you MUST abort now.

If necessary, hit Control-C now, drop to a terminal, and restart the upgrade.

Not enough space in /var/tmp to log the upgrade.  Please set the MC_TMPDIR
variable to a location that has at least 200 MB of free space, then restart
the upgrade.

だって。GNOMEは起動していないのだが。MC_TMPDIR を空き領域がたくさんあるディレクトリに指定してもう一度gnome_upgrade.shを実行したら先へ進んだ。

その後ずっとコンパイル中。明日には終わっているだろう。
